The start of my journey with Procreate and Adobe Fresco
The moment I sat down to practice digital illustration, something became crystal clear—I need a vacation 😅. Maybe it was the dreamy sunset I drew as my first creation, or maybe it was the fact that every brushstroke seemed to be whispering, you could be staring out at this in real life, you know 😍. Either way, here I am, committing to leveling up my digital art skills—because if I can’t be on vacation right now, I can at least create art that feels like one.
Procreate: Finally Giving It the Time It Deserves
For years, I’ve admired artists who create vibrant, seamless digital illustrations in Procreate, and I’ve finally decided to jump in! I’m dedicating at least 1 day a week to intentionally learning the ins and outs of this powerful tool. From mastering brushes and layering techniques to playing with color blending and textures, I’m jumping in headfirst (with lots of trial and error, of course, that’s my learning style).
So far, I’m loving how intuitive it feels—like sketching on paper, but with endless undo buttons (bless). I’m also discovering how much fun it is to mix bold colors, something that definitely aligns with my love for all things vibrant and expressive.

Adobe Fresco: Just Dipping My Toes In
While my main focus is on Procreate, I’m also planning to explore Adobe Fresco—especially its live brushes and watercolor effects. I haven’t gone too deep yet, but I’m excited to see how it stacks up and where it fits into my workflow. Who knows? Maybe I’ll uncover a whole new style I didn’t even know I had!
The Plan: Practice, Experiment, & Play
This journey is about learning, experimenting, and having fun—because creativity thrives when there’s room to play. I’ll be sharing my progress, the pieces I create, and what I learn along the way. If you’ve been wanting to dive into digital art, too, let’s do this together!
And hey, if all else fails, maybe the universe is telling me to pack my bags and turn this artistic retreat into a real one. Sunset views included. ✈️🌊🎨
